do we really feel like what we say matters.

Yes because if you hurt somebody by your words. You could have just lost a friend by your actions.Also if you are going to do something and you back out and lie.You could have become untrustworthy .So yes it does matter.another way you could look at is that you can't keep breaking promises and breaking trustworthy to the person you promised. An example is that I have been taught is that when Columbus was sailing across the sea and he made this comment that if 'we do not see land we will turn back' .So he made a promise and took a chance.Then the next day he found land and had faith the whole way.So we feel like what we say matters.

Do you have any personal examples of this or any from the books you are reading? Could you give an illustration of someone in the positive and the negative?

Also, what does the bible say about the words we say? Do you think it is important and why?

Great example. Put in separate paragraph though. Discuss if Columbus was justified in telling a lie. Why or why not.
